Some students, especially those who had been given labels such as ADD, ADHD, dyslexia, etc., require more intensive and advanced methods. With ETM, we can provide that added dimension. We use NLP, TPM, Bi-hemisperic activities, Speed learning, and other advanced techniques to help children overcome these unsuccessful brain strategies.
ETM was developed by Robert Fletcher, an teacher and administrator for the Utah Schools for the Deaf and Blind. In the late 70s, he was intrigued by the success of NLP and began to use it with his students. He began developing new techniques that proved effective with the severe learning disabilities associated with the multiple handicapped.
After many instances of success with students who were considered "unteachable", or "unmanageable", he retired from the school system to study and develop these techniques further. He received every certification available in NLP, hypnotherapy, and other fields. At the same time, he used skills developed over 10 years as a Speed Reading instructor and read several books a day for 2 years on psychology, learning, the mind, physiology, and methods for treatment. Taking from each the most powerful techniques, and simplifying them for younger minds, Robert Fletcher created Educating the Mind as a way of helping students reach their potential.
Educating the Mind is helping children reach their full potential.
His methods for issues such as anxiety, depression, addiction, etc., developed into what he has called, Thought Pattern Management. TPM is a set of tools to help people overcome fear, anxiety and depression.
